Big Potential

Big Potential is aimed at voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations (including co-operatives and community benefit societies) to improve their sustainability, capacity and scale to help them deliver greater social impact for communities across England.

  • Are you a voluntary, community or Social Enterprise (included in this are co-operatives or community benefit societies) in England?
  • Is your organisation thinking about whether social investment may help fund new or existing activities and services?
  • Can your organisation articulate and evidence social and /or environmental impact?
  • Is your organisation looking to raise significant investment (up to £500K) in the next 6 to 12 months (includes community share offers)?

Would you benefit from specialist business support to help raise new investment (includes community share offers)?

South West Co-operative Support is an approved support provider for the Big Lottery Fund’s new £10M fund Big Potential initiative. We have significant expertise in this field and especially in relation to community shares. [YouTube video]

A grant from this fund will help VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) organisations at the beginning of their social investment journey, to get specialist and tailored support to become investment ready.

Please contact us if you would like us to support you with or are thinking of applying for Big Potential funding.

The Complaince Mark will be launched officially on 30th June 2015 at FC United in Manchester.  Hilary Sudbury is a licensed practitioner, one of the initial five to be licensed to assess community shares offers for the compliance mark. A further two SWCS advisers are currently working towards also being licensed to issue the compliance mark.
